About Lauren

Lauren Powell is a Senior Physiotherapist in Ballarat with expertise in sports physiotherapy, hand therapy, upper limb rehabilitation, and evidence-based injury management. She works with athletes, active adults, workers, and everyday patients to recover from injury, improve function, and confidently return to sport, work, and daily activities.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University and is currently completing a Master of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy at La Trobe University. She provides physiotherapy for sports injuries, knee injuries, ACL rehabilitation, tendon pain, hand and wrist injuries, shoulder and elbow conditions, post-operative rehabilitation, and upper limb injuries using evidence-based assessment and rehabilitation strategies.

She has extensive experience working in community and sporting environments, including as an NBL1 South Lead Physiotherapist, and has provided physiotherapy services for the Central Highlands Football League and the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League. Through her postgraduate training, Lauren has also gained experience working with the Australian Women’s National Rowing Team and has contributed to the AFLW Prep to Play injury prevention research project.

Lauren is currently undertaking postgraduate training in hand therapy through the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) while working towards accreditation. She also provides custom hand and wrist splinting and casting to support the management of fractures, tendon injuries, ligament injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation.

A little about me

In her spare time, Lauren loves to have fun and socialise with her friends.  Lauren enjoys going to the gym or playing some social sports locally. She will take any opportunity to go hiking or camping for a weekend away!
