About Alyssa
Alyssa Britten is a Physiotherapist and Strength Coach in Ballarat with expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports injury rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, powerlifting rehabilitation, and exercise-based rehabilitation. She works with athletes, active adults, and everyday patients to recover from injury, reduce pain, improve strength, and confidently return to sport, work, exercise, and everyday activities.
Alyssa holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University and a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science from Deakin University, along with Certificate III and IV in Fitness. She combines evidence-based physiotherapy with strength and exercise prescription to deliver individualised treatment programs that restore function, improve performance, and support long-term health.
With more than six years of strength coaching experience, Alyssa has a special interest in strength training, powerlifting, and performance-based rehabilitation. She has coached everyone from beginners through to national-level powerlifters, helping individuals improve strength, optimise performance, reduce injury risk, and successfully return to lifting after injury. Her dual qualifications in physiotherapy and exercise science allow her to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and high-performance training.
Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Alyssa worked as a Sports Trainer across football and soccer, providing acute injury assessment, on-field management, injury rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning. This experience has strengthened her expertise in sports injury management, multidisciplinary care, and helping athletes safely return to competition.
Outside the clinic, Alyssa has competed at the highest levels of both team and strength sports. She has represented Australia in soccer and futsal and is an Australian National Champion Powerlifter, winning the Australian National Powerlifting Championships and setting multiple Australian powerlifting records. Her experience as both an elite athlete and physiotherapist provides valuable insight into injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance optimisation, and the physical demands of high-level sport.
