Treatment for knee and hip arthritis
GLA:D® trained physiotherapists at Lake Health Group can provide you with the tools you need to better manage your osteoarthritis symptoms. They regularly undertake assessments and GLA:D® groups to cater for the local demand ensuring long waits to join the program are avoided.
Research from the program in Denmark has shown that arthritis symptoms can be lowered by 32% by participating in the program.
This program provides a unique combination of education and exercise which participants can apply to everyday activities. By strengthening and correcting daily movement patterns, participants will be able to train their bodies to move properly and thus prevent symptom progression and reduce pain.
The GLA:D Program can help to:
• Reduce pain levels
• Diminish the reliance on joint related pain killers
• Increase participant’s activity levels.
• Reduce the need for arthroscopic knee and hip surgery
• May prolong the need for hip and knee joint replacement.
